Ghasiem Baker

Formerly the Administrator of Victoria Hospital in Wynberg, Cape Town, Ghasiem brings his administrative expertise to our management team.

Shamiel Friday

A successful businessman and entrepreneur in the Bonteheuwel region, Shamiel’s entrepreneurial acumen is a valuable asset to our organization.

Sheikh Moegammad Colbie

A graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt (2005), currently teaches Islamic studies at Muhammadeyah Primary School in Wynberg, Cape Town. He is also an active preacher, religious leader, and motivator, contributing to various platforms and communities.

Our Journey

Company History

Established as a nonprofit organization in 2021, the Tooba Africa Foundation was officially introduced to the community in December 2022 with the aim of driving positive change within the Bonteheuwel area and its surrounding communities. In March 2023, we had the honor of hosting Qāri Sheikh Mohammad Ayyub Asif, a renowned scholar originally from the UK, now residing in Egypt.

During Ramadan 2023, we launched a fundraising campaign on Facebook to acquire a vacant plot of land to advance our mission. Additionally, in Ramadan 1445 / March 2024, we held our first annual Senior Iftaar, bringing together elders from the community to share in the blessings of the holy month.

Tooba Africa Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing Islamic teachings and serving our community through a diverse range of programs. Our mission is to establish a comprehensive institution that integrates humanitarian services, an orphanage, an Islamic school, and a Da’wah (Islamic outreach) center, addressing both spiritual and social needs.

We strive to empower individuals and families by providing education, social support, and opportunities for spiritual growth, fostering resilience and cohesion within our local and surrounding communities. Through these initiatives, we aim to create a positive and lasting impact in the lives of those we serve.
